- Prospects are players who are under 27 years of age and have played less than 200 games for everyday players or 175 IP. I realize this will allow Relief pitchers a number of years to reach but we need to keep it clean and simple since lots of RP have SP tags as well which can get confusing.
- Inital prospect draft will be 20 rounds.
- 2015 draft will be 5 rounds, at which time the prospect rosters will grow to 25 strong.
- Prospects must be owned by an MLB team to be drafted (I.e If they did not sign after the draft they are not eligable). I will post a link to find who signed after the 2014 draft.
- It is the responsibility of the owner to call up prospects before they reach the max limits. If a player reaches game 201 (must have played game 201....200 is still a prospect) then they are free game to be signed by any DBL team and place on their MLB roster.
- I will keep the prospect owned thread up to date with each call up so everyone has a place to go to see exactly who is owned.
- Prospects can be called up, released, or signed at any time. For the new guys to my types of leagues, this means that you can drop one of your prospects and sign a new one at any point throughout the season (so keep up on your research).
- Baseball is a different beast when it comes to signing players from overseas and the carribbean. So the draft each year will be held in January of each year and will include players who signed Cuba, Japan, etc. (This would have included Rusney Castillo and Yasmany Tomas etc)
- So most international free agents sign July 2nd.....this means they are not eligable to be added until the offseason prospect draft......If they are 27 years or older then they will be subject to waivers.
- Prospects can be called up or sent back to the farm at any time but will count towards each teams 4 moves per week. Prospect transactions must be posted in the transactions thread
