Notification Ideas

Hey guys,

I apologize if what I am about to say is a forum n00b thing to ask for, but I had a suggestion about the best way to notify all teams about certain timely posts. 

I haven't had a chance to look at every NEW post everyone writes, but i started to notice people have been posting Trade Block posts regarding draft picks they may want to trade.  Although I saw these now and it wasn't too late, I know what is going to happen (with me at least) and that is someone will post something that i may be really interested in and because I didn't check the forum and keep hitting refresh, I will know nothing about it.

That probably will change once we move to Yahoo because we can post there things like that, but in the meantime....

Is it a good idea to maybe send a message to all the users in the forum through the Messages option letting everyone know X pick or X player or X prospect round is up for trade? that at least pushes out an email that you have a new message and we can check that much easier than guessing what posts were newly created.

I realize I am doing the same thing now that I am saying is a problem haha...but I may be the only one who has issue with this.

Not sure if it can help, but at the bottom of the page...well kinda bottom is a tab called recent posts, hitting this will list every post made starting with the most current, I find this the easiest way to see what was posted since the last time I was on, but I would be open to including messages etc if it helps. If you are looking for what was written since last time you logged in this could be the answer?

it does sort of.  Problem is I am not on the forum 24/7.  if someone posts at 4PM that they are on the clock and the pick is up for trade and i dont check for a few hours, i lose out.

if he sent an email to the league then everyone would get that right away.  I kinda wish this forum had like a subscribe button for certain threads where you will get notifications for every post on that thread.  know what i mean?

Yep, o know what you are saying now. Other than sending an email, not sure how to get around it..must be a better answer in the options. Let me look around.

Under profile, notifications, you can set it to receive an email when someone send a a personal message, or when a bookmarked thread is updated. Could bookmark all the trade threads, or maybe set one specifically up for all teams etc.

THAT is exactly the workaround I am looking for! I am going to do that and might suggest others do that if they havent. Gonna see how it works and let everyone know.
