Hey Guys,
I think we should seriously consider moving to fantrax as a way to better track the prospects. However a couple things give me reservation:
1: there is no way to track call ups or send downs in terms of number of moves per week, meaning we would have to move to a format where either you own them and can move them freely, or once you call them up, they are there to stay.
2. Fantrax costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $80 so that would need to be factored in.
3. I do like Yahoo game play better and I know in the hockey league we went through similar adjustments with the acquisition of prospects etc, however I don't think hockey had near the amount of call ups we see in baseball and from my own standpoint I don't know baseball prospects as much as I do hockey (my own fault ).
Let's just get a discussion going to gage the interest and see where it goes.....we don't need any fighting or threats of leaving the league for anything silly, just a convo..
We do need a replacement for the Reds and maybe one other if anyone knows someone interested

I like Yahoo a lot but I've only ever used it and ESPN. Not a fan of paying another $5 a season for each guy just to make prospect stuff easier.

I think the $80 is a one time fee but I'm not certain

"If" there is any left over cash from the jerseys i can put it towards fantrax if people want to switch. No guarantee. Im open to moving, i have access to fantrax from work amd not yahoo. I like yahoo and am content, but if fantrax is easier it might help with game flow in the summer months when people are busier. Ultimately id like to see all managers engaged in the league, so if it helps im game.

For the reason of the "unlimited transactions" thing, I'd rather stick with Yahoo. The set up we have really isn't difficult, I think people are just a little lazy. Also Fantrax is ugly. My vote can be bought if one of you Pro-Fantrax people pays my $5 fee

I also like Yahoo, although I honestly have never used Fantrax.

I would like to bring this issue that Tyler brought up last year to the table again as this may be part of the decision if i decide to come back for this season.
Yahoo was a clusterfuck for baseball. It was near impossible to track what players were on what team if they were not part of their 25 man. It made this league that should be great completely unenjoyable. I felt like going to Yahoo was going to a black hole bc 70% of the info you needed wasn't there. Forget about the nightmare it caused the people in charge.
I do want to say that I would like for everything else to stay here in the forum as I do not want to lose this vibe! However, it is not feasible to run a league smoothly in the matter the amazing commish and mods/co-commishes did so admirably last year.
There are no gameplay differences as you are able to customize the league exactly the way you want it at fantrax. They do though allow you to add every single player on your roster there AND have a more robust player DB. They also will respond to you and add features you may need which yahoo spits in your face for.
At the very least if this is still a possibility, maybe Tyler or one of the mods can create a league on fantrax (it is free to do that) and at least take a look around. There are several fantrax members on here who can definitely give advice.
Hell...it doesnt have to be fantrax...it could be any site because any site is better than crappy Yahoo for baseball!
Thanks guys!

I'm biased as I'm not as seasoned in baseball as I am hockey... In hockey when a player gets added, I know instantly if he's a prospect and if he should be/is owned. In baseball that isn't the case, so as one of Tyler's helpers, it makes it tough for me to monitor. For that reason, I support the move to Fantrax. Either that or Armando can take my seat at the table

I'm ok with fantrax for the prospect side of things like he is saying. My only downside would be that I have 14 or 15 Yahoo baseball leagues and it would be my only fantrax league. I mean, if you have other fantrax leagues you need someone in, then I would have more interest in jumping over there as right now I would find myself going "meh, it's only one league, I'll go change the lineup tomorrow" and end up losing interest lol.

Its amazing how making life easier for everyone involved would lessen interest. I find that odd. The reasons seem a bit silly so far. We are not 90 years old and can easily click a different 'favorite' on our browser to go to fantrax as opposed to yahoo. if laziness or being scared to click another website are the only reasons why you dont like the idea, then that's not good enough IMO. We are talking ease of use and a more seamless league where our rosters are gigantic.
while it is nice to offer help, having an extra hand for the mods to keep track of players doesnt solve the glaring hole that its almost impossible for us as managers to keep track of what players are on each team let along our own team lol. it is not the right thing to do to have 20 minor league players from each team cluttering up the free agent pool bc yahoo is too dumb to allow those players on actual rosters. this is 2016....its not the right way to handle a league like this. Yahoo is the worst fantasy site out there...you get what you get for free....a piece of garbage.
i dont care where else we do it, but yahoo is not the place for a league of this caliber.
