Cutch Comes Home! Not long after this fine new league was established and the hiring of Pirates GM Alan Ponga, the Pittsburgh Pirates ball club was thrust into making their franchise defining draft selection! With the second pick in the draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates GM decided to go homegrown and bring 'Cutch' back to the Steel City. 'We were looking for a 5 tool player to build around and obviously with the 2nd overall pick we had the pick of the litter. Why not bring in one of our homeboys!' Said the Pirates GM.
'Man oh man, it's good to be home! I didn't even need to change my jersey or pay someone to wear double deuce! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect situation. I have confidence in management and the owners and watch out for the Pirates in 2015!' McCutcheon stated. Welcome home, Andrew McCutcheon! Black and Yellow baby!

Draft Pick Trade!!In what was a surprising move given GM Alan Ponga's history, the newly hired Pirates GM traded his 2nd round pick to the Yankees in a last minute move with the Pirates on the clock. The GM traded his 2nd round pick and 6th rounder for the Yankees 3rd and 4th rounders. 'I figured the few players I was pondering with the 2nd round pick would be there when we pick in the 3rd, so I bulked up for the next 2 rounds.' said the Pirates GM. 'Good luck to the Yanks and their newly drafted pitcher Masahiro Tanaka.'
We shall see who the Pirates get with their picks to see if this was a smart move or not.

Michael Brantley Heads to Pittsburgh!
With their second pick in the draft chosen in the 3rd round, the Pittsburgh Pirates select the most improved player of the year in the AL last season. Michael Brantley busted out in a big way last season batting .327 with 20 HR, 87 RBI and 23 steals. Can he releat those numbers is anyone's guess, but this 5-tooler is ready to help the Pirates contend this season.

Wainwright and Lester to Anchor Pirates Staff! Perennial Cy Young candidate Adam Wainwright and stud lefty Jon Lester have been chosen by the Pirates to anchor a staff on a team that already has a nice hitting core. GM Alan Ponga said 'I can't be happier than I am to get these two guys. I passed on some of the other top 10 pitchers to focus on hitting but boy am I happy to have these two guys!!'

The Cyborg Joins The Pirates!
The Pittsburgh Pirates are excited to announce that Albert Pujols has signed on for one...last...deal. At 35, Albert was looking for one...last...deal to cash in before he retires. He signs an incentive based contract with the Pirates that lasts until he hangs up the cleats but does not include a no trade clause. Some diehards found it disgusting that he was going to the highest bidder rather than sign a lesser deal to return to the Cardinals to end his career. Previously called MV3 or El Hombre, he now goes by The Cyborg due to copyright issues. Rumor has it that the Pirates are so stingy, they didnt want to pay for the rights to those nicknames and instead created their own to try and make some money on new merchandise.
