It is not a perfect system but we use it in hockey and have had one issue in 4 seasons with these types of adds when players are owned....
I suggest this.....you want a player who is a FA on yahoo.....click their name....if their GP are above 200 or 175IP for pitchers then you can add them no problem...
If they are under those maximums then come to yahoo and throw the last name in the search feature....
I will keep the "currently owned prospects thread" up to date so it can become a pretty easy search tool and reference guide....

Yeah i think i asked some of the same questions as you this time last year for Hockey.. i remember asking why are there 141 boards on the forum, and why are we using Yahoo lol ....Fantrax would be ideal, but i do have to admit, i have gotten used to this game play and i do appreciate the nuances of this all which helps promote a community atmosphere as you are relying and using the forum more. You do get use to it and it does become 2nd nature at some point.. especially when you figure out a few of the work arounds.

i am sure it is probably me not used to the forum setting and i am sorry if I came across angry...but as this may 'work' and some of you guys have 'gotten used to it'...why not get something that actually works instead of dealing with it? obviously not this year bc its too late, but its an idea. Yahoo is like using a Commodore 64 (for all you old guys out there) and any other site is like using a super computer.
its something to think about. its 2015...we shouldnt need a forum to store all this info when there are free sites that will keep all of this without having to do all this work.
thanks for listening guys. just trying to help

I personally can't stand fantrax, I've been in 3 leagues now with fantrax and I've paid attention to the teams for about 1 month then just said forget it cause it's was too much travel and remembering when I was already on Yahoo for 8 teams haha. Just my opinion.

Yup.. It's fantasy sports lol. The whole idea is to be lazy and relax in a recliner while setting lineups and watching sports. I don't need to exercise.. If I did, I would be picking myself in this league hahaha.

not sure where else to put this...but it is a roster idea.
Yahoo had a limitation of i believe 4 or 5 IR players. if you had more, which happened...you were screwed.
Fantrax gives you an option for unlimited or a fixed number from 0-50
was wondering what everyone's opinion was.

For baseball, since these players are gigantic pussies, I like 3-5 IR spots. If a player comes off IR on Fantrax does that lock you out of roster moves until you put them back in your active roster?

For baseball, since these players are gigantic pussies, I like 3-5 IR spots. If a player comes off IR on Fantrax does that lock you out of roster moves until you put them back in your active roster? There are several options for that including your roster being illegal until the owner makes a change....roster being illegal means you do not accrue any stats until you fix it. There is even an option for an x amount of weeks grace period, but I say that should be 0. See, I feel bc baseball players a ginormous pussies, it might be worth having more than 3-5 since it happens more often. Maybe not unlimited, but a bit more. I had an NL only league last year that I won (on Yahoo of course lol), but at one point I had 9 guys on the DL and couldn't fill a full lineup bc I was stuck with only 4 slots! haha. In this day and age, they also have an option to allow suspended players on the IR, but not sure if we wanted to go that far. lol
