it's funny how people could think complete opposites about things (everyone can have their own opinion of course and nothing wrong with that). I think yahoo is by far the worst fantasy sports site out there and my job is to create and improve software and web based user experience lol. There isn't a site out there worse than yahoo....and there is also no reason to have to decipher who is available and who is not. Kudos to you if you can remember 300 players names and whose teams they are on bc i cant lol.
I guess I am going for ease and smoothness of use rather than laziness to have to go to a different site. Also, me saying I am not going to stay if we stay on yahoo is just the same as you saying you will leave if we go to another website lol. you realize that, right?
Difference is the league was just not as enjoyable as it should have been and the main and only reason was yahoo and its primitive horribleness. Yahoo is a platform that caters to novices and 14 year old kid fantasy leagues and the proof is in the pudding. you get what you pay for. Fantrax may not be pretty, but it does way more than yahoo including the actual game play and rules that is needed for this league to run.
We are trying to shoehorn a Ford F-350 into a spot made for a Cooper Mini. It just doesnt work.

Weird, I didn't realize I said I'd leave if we went to Fantrax? I actually said I'd try it even though I currently don't enjoy using it. At least I said I'd give it a shot and not throw around ultimatums.
But yes, I'm lazy. Over 10 years of using and enjoying the same thing will make someone resistant to change.

Also, none of the guys asking for a change gave an ultimatum....they actually gave it a full season in 2015 and an off season first, right? to each his own of course and I didnt want to make this a back and forth, so i am sorry. Yahoo is terrible, end of story lol. for cookie cutter leagues that dont need rules other than default it is tolerable, but thats it. I am actually surprised since you did a basketball league with a few of us that you feel this way. Yahoo vs fantrax basketball is like worlds apart. baseball is the same. Just look at the Braves roster on fantrax and tell me that it isnt instantly better looking to have his entire roster at his fingertips. I dont even know why i am arguing lol. It really doesnt matter to me whether we switch or not...i think it is just because I know for a fact that yahoo is so juvenile and terrible that I always feel strongly about it haha. carry on! =) |

well, not 1oo% pleased with Fantrax. i love the roster page set up(majors/minors/bench, etc.) but i don't like how i don't have rankings next to my players like yahoo, i heavily rely on those numbers. If someone can find where they are for me I'll have less issues, I noticed they have an ultimate list with pre-rankings, but they don't seem to have the breakdown like yahoo. Also, really trying not to spend more money on the league, but if the cost is minimal i shouldn't have to big an issue. Most import thing to me is keeping the league together, so i would like to use the website that causes us to lose the least amount of managers, and will do whatever is needed to make sure my team is set to go for whichever league we stick with.

I don't think having my minors on my team page is worth not having a decent app. That seems more "primitive" to me than anything.

majority vote says we should try it out. no platform will be perfect but if one makes the league better im willing to try it out

Maybe the new page upgrade will get it up the level we are used to with Yahoo. garret, they have the stats and the live numbers all on the roster page (Amongst many other features) you just have to fool around wit the page for a little bit to see how to access it. |
