It seems like we're at least willing to dip our feet into the fantrax pool and see how the water is first so don't go anywhere yet. Who knows, maybe you've just changed all of our worlds in fantasy baseball. I'm willing to give it a shot and as someone who has been a commish in a yahoo league before.. The fantrax setup was not that difficult and did offer a hell of a lot more options. It will just be a transition period but it really doesn't seem that bad once you get used to the look of everything.

Also, I sent the email to whatever you have on Yahoo for the invites. So check there if you didn't get any. As said before, MIA, MIN, PIT and CIN. I don't have your emails so post them or send them to me and I'll set it up.

so with the set up as is.. I am only using 2 premium features that would cost money.

1. Future draft pick trading.
- can only be fixed if i set it to only able to trade this years draft picks.. not a big deal really.. we can just keep track of it in the message boards i guess.

2. The rookie limits on being sent to the minors.
- this is the problem.. if i turn it off, we will just have to use the honour system i guess.. if i have it set to 200 GP and 175 ip.. it will cost $80 to do just this haha.

so i guess we need to figure out the issue for #2?

how extensive is the prospect players....does it have every prospect signed or drafted?

Has every prospect in the minors ... And anyone that it doesn't have there's a request post where you give them the name and team and they get added within 24 hours

Mods can verify the rookie limits, same as we did with yahoo. If you send someone down who isnt eligible they are able to be claimed on waivers. So its really a losing situation if someone tries to abuse it and gets caught.

I joined a basketball league on fantrax and got to admit i hated it at first, but it grew on me. I think making the switch will be harder than accepting it once its made.

It looks like things are being discussed, but I wanted to chime in on a few comments.  The problem with most of the people that have a problem with this are laziness reasons or they used the site years ago and didnt like it for whatever reason.  they dont cater well to hockey,, maybe that was a problem?

Biz has actual gameplay reasons for wanting a switch.  

My main gripe and I would like to hear anyone who disagrees with me...if there is a site that allows you to have all your players you own actually ON YOUR ROSTER instead of cluttering up the first 10 pages of free agents with players you cant pick up or have to go to a secondary site to figure out if these players are owned....that's not worth 5 measly bucks?  it is to me.  otherwise its just a cluster F of confusion and clutter. 

anyway...enough of my rambles lol


glad this is working itself out, but if we decide to stick with yahoo, I am going to have to bow out of the league too. it is just not conducive to this type of league to have it on Yahoo.

the league is up and running on fantrax.

its best that everyone signs up quickly so that they can get a better feel of comfortability with the new platform. so far so good on my end

My main problem is the shitty platform of Fantrax.
My second problem is having one team on a different site.
And no, I don't have any problem deciphering between who is owned. In hockey we have 25 prospects and I have no issues figuring out who is owned or not when using Yahoo.

And really, why do they even charge money for this?!? They don't drive enough traffic and sell ads? Are we going to be free of ad content? Maybe that's worth my extra money then. $80US to utilize a few more options seems a bit much. If it's so superior it should have no trouble attracting leagues like ours and generating a ton of traffic, which they can then sell to advertisers and not charge for "premium" options.

I just don't like Fantrax as it currently is. And to switch because a handful of people wanted to quit? C'mon.

I hear you drew. I'm not a fantrax fan either but I set it up to see what it's like and it's not all bad. I've seen worse things on the Internet. And it's not going to cost any more money cause I set the league up virtually the exact same way without any premium features so it will be a free page.

I don't like the platform either, but willing to adjust if I have no choice...quitting the league isn't an option for me either way. But no, not a fan of the switch.
